The Aasra Society was established as in November 2002, its main aim to serve poor communities in rehabilitation & accommodation without any distinction of cast, creed and color to help reduce poverty and improve the quality of life in rural Pakistan. Its goal is to empower individuals and communities to take care of themselves, and eventually help them become self-sufficient. In order to be self-reliant, it is essential that development is multidimensional, this comprises five key programs: water management, income enhancement, rural health, family life education and alternative energy.

At the grassroots level, these programs are implemented by a dedicated team of field workers from the villages themselves, who work closely with the local bodies. Personnel on the field receive support from a team of experienced and highly qualified professionals.
